Why You Won’t Find My Work on Social Media…

Social media is a powerful tool, but it’s not where I choose to showcase my art. While I deeply respect its ability to connect, inspire, and share stories, I also recognize its limitations and impact on mental well-being.

My Philosophy

I believe art should be experienced with intention, not just scrolled past. The depth, nuance, and emotion behind each image deserve more than a fleeting moment in an algorithm-driven feed. Instead, I present my work in ways that encourage a deeper connection—through my website, print collections, and private galleries.

That said, I fully support my clients in sharing their images if they choose to. Your experience, your story—how you present it is up to you.

How to Share & Credit My Work

If you’d like to share your images on social media, I’d love to be credited so others can discover my work! Here’s how you can do that:

Tag Me: Mention @Brandy___Kay in your caption and tag me in the photo. This helps link the image to my work.

Make Me a Collaborator (Instagram Only): When posting, tap ‘Tag People’ → ‘Invite Collaborator’, and add me. This ensures the image appears on both of our profiles.

Use a Caption Credit: A simple acknowledgment goes a long way! You can say something like:

“Created by @brandy___kay – an unforgettable experience!”

Avoid Filters: Please keep the image true to its original form. Filters and edits can alter the intended look and feel. If you do want something adjusted to better suit your feed style, just let me know.

Social Media & Mental Health

While I step away from posting my work, I encourage mindful engagement with social media. It’s easy to get lost in comparison and validation cycles, and I believe photography—especially personal and intimate portraiture—should be about authentic self-expression, not external approval.

By keeping my portfolio in spaces I control, I can ensure that my work is experienced the way it was meant to be—free from distractions, pressure, or the ever-changing whims of an algorithm.

Thank you for understanding my approach, and if you choose to share your images, I truly appreciate the credit and support!
